Flower Trends for 2025
I spoke with several floral experts about the trends they’re predicting for the year ahead. It was such a rich discussion that I’ve made this a two-part series. Let’s dive into Part 1.
Insights from Dale K, the Garden Guy (as seen on Fox9 Twin Cities):
Dale shared that one major trend for 2025 is the rise of "lived-in gardens." Instead of perfectly manicured, homogenized urban landscapes, gardeners are creating outdoor spaces that feel like tranquil oases, as though they’ve been nurtured for decades. Think of climbing roses and wandering vines.
Dale’s Advice:
· Consider planting a bulb lawn with native plants.
· Embrace imperfection. "Not being a perfect plant is okay," he says.
· Music in the garden is growing in popularity. Younger gardeners are curating playlists to enhance their gardening experience.
· Social media’s influence is shifting to smaller niche garden groups on platforms like TikTok and Meta/Facebook.
· Grow flowers that dry well. "Why not make the most out of every petal?"
You can follow Dale for more tips on his Instagram page.

A Conversation with Sandy Schroeck, Education Coordinator at Len Busch Roses:

Q: Sandy, what do you see as floral trends for 2025?
Sandy: “For events and weddings, we’re seeing more vivid colors. Coral, orange, and hot pink are making a splash, creating a vibrant polychromatic harmony. This is a shift from the blush and white neutrals we’ve seen in recent years.”
Another trend Sandy highlighted is the Bohemian look in floral arrangements. “It’s a little less structured and more natural. We’re adding character to designs, using product groupings for impact and creating pieces that extend beyond compact, round shapes.”
Check out Sandy’s YouTube tutorial on crafting a Bohemian floral arrangement.
Instagram photo backdrops are also big this year. Sandy says, “We’re seeing an increase in creative backdrops for weddings and corporate events. These include framed structures like circles, squares, and offset columns for more spontaneous, less posed photos.”

Coming Next Time:
In Part 2 of Flower Trends for 2025, I’ll share more insights from Sandy and talk about peonies with Laura Betker from Kare11’s Grow With Kare. Stay tuned!
In the Kitchen:
This winter, I’ve started an indoor bulb garden. Stores around the Twin Cities are now offering these, and perhaps they’re popping up in your area too. Will you be raising bulbs indoors?
